Customer:
Exide Industries Ltd. — Laboratory Division, Banglore
Project Category:
Laboratory & R&D — Controlled Environment / Battery Testing
Customer Requirement:
The Exide laboratory needed stable, repeatable humidity conditions across rooms of very different size and function. In battery testing and R&D work, drift in relative humidity distorts test results, affects electrolyte behaviour and shortens the life of sensitive instrumentation. The client needed capacity matched room by room rather than a single standard unit, and installation had to work around an ongoing test schedule that could not be paused.
Project Result:
Successfully Completed — 15 units across four capacity classes supplied and installed
What we did:
• Surveyed each laboratory area individually for volume, air change rate and moisture load • Built a four-model specification — 100 L/day, 160 L/day, 190 L/day and 360 L/day — so small test rooms were not over-served and large-volume areas received full output • Supplied and installed 15 units across the facility to that room-by-room specification • Phased installation around the laboratory's live test calendar so no scheduled test was interrupted • Verified humidity stability in each room after commissioning to confirm repeatable test conditions
Project Description
Jet India supplied a mixed fleet of 15 dehumidification units — spanning the 100 L/day, 160 L/day, 190 L/day and 360 L/day models — to the Exide Industries laboratory facility in Mumbai. Laboratory and battery-testing environments require stable, repeatable humidity conditions: drift in relative humidity distorts test results, affects electrolyte behaviour and shortens the life of sensitive instrumentation. Rather than a single standard unit, the specification was built room by room, matching extraction capacity to each area's volume, air change rate and moisture load. This four-model approach kept smaller test rooms from being over-served while giving the large-volume areas the output they needed. Installation was phased to avoid interrupting the laboratory's ongoing test schedules.
